Ana Carolina Barros

Ana Carolina Bariviera Barros is a young lawyer specializing in complex international litigation involving intellectual property. During her studies, Ana was the highest-ranked Brazilian speaker in the history of the 23 editions of the world's largest arbitration competition, the Willem C. Vis Moot in Vienna, Austria. As a lawyer, Ana joined a prominent law firm focused on complex litigation involving pharmaceutical and telecommunications technologies.


Ana also co-coordinated the book "Economic Analysis of Law: Proposals for Improving the Justice System," which compiled over 40 articles by judges and lawyers.


Currently, Ana is pursuing her LL.M at Columbia Law School in New York, with a partial scholarship from the Instituto Ling. Ana has also taken on the role of Vice President of the Brazil Conference, the largest conference on Brazil held annually at Harvard and MIT, as well as the Vice Presidency of the Brazilian Association of Columbia Law School. Ana is the co-founder of Women in IP, an initiative aimed at strengthening female participation in intellectual property.


As the founder of the NY Law & Science Academy, Ana aims to inspire young Brazilian lawyers to broaden their horizons, providing access to cutting-edge legal knowledge and the opportunities that often remain hidden from the Brazilian legal community.
